JAMES A. ZAEPFEL
Jim Zaepfel, a lifelong resident of Western New York, has devoted his business and non-business energies to the improvement and growth of Amherst and the Western New York region.
As the founder of the development company that bears his name, Jim has overseen the development of several million square feet of construction since the company's inception in 1974, the majority of which is located in Western New York. Two of Amherst's largest current commercial development projects are those of Zaepfel Development Co., Northpointe Commerce Park and College Park Office Park.

As a Lifelong Member of Ducks Unlimited, who's mission is the conservation of the environment, Jim's leadership within the community of Amherst and Western New York is evidenced in his tenure over several years as Chairman of the Amherst Conservation Council. It was during this tenure that the Council succeeded at assembling numerous parcels to create the 300-acre Great Baehre Conservation area within which was established the 25-acre Margaret Louise Park specifically designed in conjunction with UB to be handicap accessible.
Jim's a devoted supporter of Children's Hospital and has contributed both substantial time and dollars to its well-being and success.
The father of Greg, Kristin and John, Jim now devotes much of his time and affection to his six grandchildren.
